About the Artist:
“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, as an artist, will answer you: I came to live out loud.” I love that quote by Emile Zola! Why would anyone want to hide or hold back their true passion??? I certainly don’t want that. I want to live out loud, too!
My love for painting began when I was in my teens, and that passion has been rekindled recently when I discovered Alcohol Inks as a new painting medium. I love the beauty and vibrancy of their colors! Alcohol Inks also seem to have a mind of their own, but I enjoy that challenge … “taming the inks” …
I have always been inspired by animals, and in particular, dogs. I’ve been blessed to have had three golden retrievers and one yellow lab in my life as my incredible furbabies. There is something so special about the loyalty and unconditional love of a dog. As Robert Caras once said, “Animals are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” I’m sure that every pet owner can relate to that.
It is with that belief and passion that has led me on a journey over the past three years of painting custom portraits. My goal is to capture the heart and soul of your beloved pets and loved ones in my paintings. If I can capture that, you will not only SEE my paintings, but you will FEEL them too.
“Less about what the EYE sees, and more about what the SOUL feels …” ~Marlene Miller Art~
“Art is what we call … the thing an artist does. It’s not the medium or the oil or the price or whether it hangs on a wall or you eat it. What matters, what makes it art, is that the person who made it overcame the resistance, ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. Something risky. Something human. Art is not in the … eye of the beholder. It’s in the soul of the artist.”
